This 'City of Gold' known for its amazing museums, is the biggest city in South Africa which is a popular tourist destination! There's more to the city than the Mandela House, like the Zoo Lake, the Holy Hill and the like.

Mandela's House

The house where Nelson Mandela lived from 1946 to 1962 is converted into a museum known as the Nelson Mandela National Museum!
You can get a glimpse of history in the house where there's a showcase of photographs, paintings as well as awards and recognitions earned by Nelson Mandela.

The Lion Park

A must-visit place when in town, the Lion Park is most-visited for the Transvaal lions. However, one can find many animals that are inherent to Africa at the park.

Holy Hill

Apartheid Museum

Part of the Gold Reef Complex, the museum demonstrates the country's fight against apartheid and its 20th-century history. Every year, at least five events are held here to celebrate the end of apartheid and celebrate the beginning of democracy.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site has a huge complex of limestone caves spread over an area of 47,000 hectares! Once at the site, you can spend time exploring the place, go fly-fishing or hop onto the hot air balloon or checkout the Lion and Rhino Reserve.

Carlton Center

The 50-storied skyscraper is the second-tallest building in Johannesburg which has offices, shops and a shopping center! There's an observation deck at the top of the building from where you can get a glimpse of the whole city.
