Kalsubai- Highest Peak In Maharashtra

Kalsubai is the highest peak in Maharashtra with a height of 1646 meters above sea level. Kalsubai is situated in the western ghats, Maharashtra, India. Being the highest peak it is steep. Coordinates- 19.6012° N, 73.7092° E
As you reach at the top the view is just serene. Its not the mountains we conquer but ourselves, it is exactly what you feel when you reach the top. The mountain being steep, there are chains, railings and ladders at places that are very useful for your trek.
Nothing like being on the top of the mountain and star gazing. You just cannot imagine the peace you feel while sitting there and gazing at the stars as if you are the only priority in your life.
It takes around 3 to 4 hours to complete this trek. The trail is long but it was worth it. best time to visit kalsubai during monsoon as the scenery during monsoon is the best. The greenery blooms during monsoon leaving in front you a whole big space of nothing else but scenic beauty. 
During summers you can always opt for a night trek so you can avoid the hot sun and during winter especially between October to February you can easily trek the mountain during the daytime too.
Precautions to be taken- 
  • Do not go alone if you never trekked alone in the Sahyadri before.
  • It is steep, but has railing or iron stairs to it.
  • Do not wear sports shoes or running shoes and get some good trekking shoes.
  • Carry some basic medicines and at least 2 liters of water.
Best time to visit Kalsubai is June to August for Monsoon Trek, September to October for flowers trek, November to May night treks. Night treks is also recommended after the monsoon season. You cannot plan a night trek in monsoon as there the tent couldn't withstand the wind and rain.
